Welcome to The Porch Swing, Erin!
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
During an earlier period in my life, I was in academia and published a few articles. I turned to writing inspirational fiction in 2014 and now have six books out. I credit my accomplishments in great part to the critique group of (mostly) four other writers that I have been with for about five years. It’s been an incredibly safe place to share my writing, and their encouragement and critiquing has sharpened my skills. I wish every writer could find a supportive group such as this.
A good critique group is invaluable to a writer! So glad you found a good one.
If you had to choose...
Cake or Ice Cream?
Summer or Winter?
Winter...but leaning toward a more temperate climate.
City or Country?
Me, too! I love country living!
Who is your favorite character from your current work-in-progress?
Rand Kingston, a major Hollywood actor who left his Montana home at age 18 and is now returning almost twenty years later to his dying mother’s bedside.
What does your writing space look like?
It’s either my dining room table or looking out the south window in my spare bedroom.
We writers tend to choose whatever surface is available, don't we?
What does your to-be-read pile look like?
My TBR pile is unusually small because I’ve been on a writing deadline. Years ago, when I had a part-time job at a library, we were allowed to check out anything we wanted, so of course I always left work with a book or two (or three…). After a few weeks, I realized my TBR pile had grown to 27 books! Hazard of the job 😊
Oh, I know that hazard well! I've worked in bookstores and at a library - dream jobs, but that TBR pile just grows by leaps and bounds!
What are you reading right now?
I just finished Kathy Geary Anderson’s debut book, The Trouble With Jenny, and loved it! She’s a new, fresh voice in historical inspirational romance, and I expect more outstanding books from her.
What is at the top of your "bucket list?"
Going back to northwestern Montana, the setting for my fictional Canadian Meadows series, which I visited in 2019.
That's a beautiful part of the country!
Tell us a little bit about your newest release.
It's book two in the Canadian Meadows series, a story about lost hope, lost love, and the power of forgiveness.
Readers can click on the cover to find the book on Amazon!
