This month, we have Erica Vetsch in our Author Spotlight.
Erica has become a dear friend over the years, and in July 2020, our families united when my son and her daughter got married!
That lovely event doesn't overshadow Erica's writing talent, though! Her newest release is delightful, and you don't want to miss it.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. First, let me introduce you to our guest:
Welcome, Erica! Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I love Jesus, history, romance, and sports. I am a history museum addict, Kansas Jayhawks basketball fan and rugby enthusiast. Seafood is icky, and research books are the best!
You didn't mention your cross stitching addiction - one of the many things we have in common!
If you had to choose, and why:
Cake or Ice Cream?
Ice cream, though in truth I like both!
Summer or Winter?
Summer! I live in Minnesota!
City or Country?
Country. I am not fond of crowds.
Who is your favorite character from your newest release?
I am enamored of a Secondary Character, Sir Bertrand Thorndike. Known as Bertie, he’s suave, handsome, and a wonderful cat-burglar! He’s patterned after Cary Grant in To Catch a Thief.
I loved Bertie, too. And who couldn't be enamored with a Cary Grant-type character?
What does your writing space look like?
I have a brand new library/writing space. It used to be my son’s bedroom, but when he moved out, I commandeered the space. My father built the large bookcases, my husband laid the floor. It has a pillow-strewn loveseat, an antique cherry desk, and a pretty rug. I have a kettle for making tea, and some writing-inspired artwork. I just love it.
I agree - it's beautiful!
What are you reading right now?
I’m currently listening to an audio production of Grimadi’s Last Act, a play by Penny Culliford based upon the work of Charles Dickens.
What is at the top of your “bucket list?”
Go to England! I had a trip planned for the spring of 2020, but that came unstuck. Hopefully next year.
I hope that trip becomes a reality soon!
What is your newest release about?
The Debutante’s Code, which released in November, is the first in a new series of Regency mysteries. Lady Juliette Thorndike, upon her return from abroad, discovers her parents are missing, and that she is the descendent of a long line of spies for the Crown. With the help of her Uncle Bertie, she must take up her heritage and seek out the clues that will uncover a killer…all while staying one jump ahead of the persistent—and handsome—Bow Street detective dogging her steps.
